I don’t often have the house to myself — just once every few weeks — the price of living with other people for a lower rent. I had an hour alone this afternoon and I spent it testing out one of the best 99-cent investments I’ve made in recent times — a bright red ping-pong paddle from a Salvation Army thrift store. Since I bought it two days ago, I have been wondering how it would feel. 

As soon as everyone left today, I went downstairs to retrieve my paddle. I stepped out of my sweatpants and tested it with a small swat to my bare ass. It stung in a really superficial way. The ping pong paddle delivered an impact to a much larger area of flesh than my other toys, but since the paddle was so lightweight, the impact wasn’t that bad. 

The paddle made an excellent warm-up toy for my self-inflicted impact play. I followed it up with alternating between a thin, whippy riding crop that acts a bit more like a cane, a wider crop, a wooden sword (uh…don’t ask….), a paint stirring stick, and a light wooden dowel. I had to scramble to put all my toys away and look normal when I heard the front door opening and people coming back, but it was a pretty good session. 

It’s been about 5 hours since I played and my ass is still feeling warm and tender. Sitting down is something to be done carefully, but it’s a pleasant reminder of the fun I had. Definitely happy with the pingpong paddle!
